Jamakhan - Stripe Handwoven Rug
What it is?
Tiipoi JAMAKHAN Stripe rug is inspired by Bhavani ‘Jamakkalams’, the colourful, graphic and often oversized floor-coverings used in homes and at weddings and public events in and around the region of Tamil Nadu in southern India. Working with textile-designer Sagarika Sundaram, this rug is a contemporary take on the original and iconic textile features a striking pattern of horizontal lines of varying widths. Tiipoi's Jamakhan rug is hand-woven in the small town of Bhavani in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu.
How It's Made?
This collection is made from high-grade Erode cotton yarn and hand-dyed the old-fashioned way in the neighbouring town of Karur. The result is a long-lasting and soft product that is also fade-proof. Handwoven and hand-dyed cotton.
How to care for it?
Dry clean only.
